Research Field

  • She specializes in the study of royal rituals in the late Joseon Dynasty. She received her M.A. with a thesis titled "A Study of Jeong Yak-yong’s Theory on the Royal Ancestral Rite in Chunchu Gojing," which analyzes Jeong Yak-yong’s interpretation of ancestral rites. Her Ph.D. dissertation, "A Study on the Jongmyo Rituals during the 17th–18th Century," explores the political characteristics behind the transformations of Jongmyo rituals during the late Joseon period. While her academic journey began with research on royal ancestral rites, her current focus lies in examining ritualistic elements embedded across various fields of the Joseon Dynasty and uncovering their historical significance.
